The Indian government is promoting the PLI Scheme to encourage manufacturing in India and lessen reliance on a certain market or geographic area. The Production-linked incentive (PLI) scheme for Large Scale Electronics Manufacturing (mass manufacturing) started by the Indian government aims to draw significant investments in smart products manufacturing and specified electronic components, including assembly, testing, marking, and packaging units.
It has a five-year budgetary outlay of Rs. 40,995 crores. The scheme will provide a 4-6% bonus on additional sales of goods made in India.
